Deborah R. French

Deborah became AFBA’s CFO in 2007, after serving as Executive Vice President of AFBA’s related enterprise, 5Star Bank. She has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. As CFO, Debbie is responsible for AFBA’s financial accounting and reporting functions, budgeting, investments, cash management, corporate finance, and analysis. She began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, in Washington D.C., where she became a CPA and supervised audits of large financial institutions and non-profit organizations. This experience led her to a regional bank, where she was responsible for SEC financial reporting and stockholder relations. She then joined 5Star Bank, and during her 16-year tenure, helped grow the start-up institution serving AFBA’s members into a community bank, with a nationally recognized credit card program and assets exceeding $200 million.
