Christopher J. Klein

Chris joined AFBA in 1992 and became Chief Audit Executive in 2016. During his tenure, he has held several ascending roles in Accounting, Internal Audit, and Information Technology. In his current role, he assists the Board of Directors and management in fulfilling oversight responsibilities on financial-related and enterprise risk matters, promoting quality of service, enhancing the efficiency of operations, testing of controls, and ensuring the overall quality and integrity of the organization. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree of Business Administration in Accounting, with a concentration in Accounting Information Systems, from James Madison University and a Master of Information Systems from Virginia Tech. He holds the following professional designations: Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).
