Greetings. As a veteran entering the civilian workforce, you might be looking for opportunities outside of higher education to expand your skills and learn about different trades. Although you might not know about them, there are a variety of job training programs available to help former servicemembers get started in new and exciting careers. Let’s take a look at one of these programs.
The Solar Instructor Training Network provides high-quality training to soldiers looking to break into the renewable energy field. The program, which recently partnered with three military bases, teaches veterans marketable skills, like how to install solar panels and connect electricity to the grid.
Servicemembers will also learn how to work in the industry as things like sales representatives and inspectors, so there are a variety of positions that can come from participating in this training.
