The unique experiences military personnel face every day mean service members may have trouble communicating with health professionals on their return to civilian life. A new program at the University of Denver has been designed to close this gap.
Former Navy corpsman Jacob Hyde and the Sturm Family Foundation have created the Specialty in Military Psychology track, which aims to give graduates a better grasp on common issues affecting veterans, so they may be better able to help members of this population.
Several veterans and current military personnel are part of the program, which demonstrates two things: First, even these military members can benefit from specialized courses to help their fellow men and women in uniform. And second, veterans’ dedication to one another’s well-being often continues unabated in civilian life.
Thanks for watching, we’ll be back with more veteran and first responder news.
